Vesna Jovanovic - Roy Alum 2005

“In 2005, I was completing my MFA degree at Ohio State when I exhibited my thesis work at ROY G BIV Gallery. I was paired with Amy Casey, who is still active today as a painter based in Cleveland. That early exhibition at ROY G BIV was especially meaningful to me as I was learning how to practice and exhibit art professionally, outside of school. ROY provides these kinds of important opportunities for emerging artists to showcase their work in a publicly visible venue. The gallery also sustains local culture by serving as a gathering space and a place to exchange inspiration and ideas. Venues like these are closing across the country, and I am happy to see that after all these years ROY continues to provide joy and food for thought with innovative and critically engaged programming.”
